Is it ok to use Bottled Water for hot tea?

Katherine asked:

I recently bought this great tea that I tried at a day spa. I like it so much that I bought 2 boxes. Though it still tastes good when I make it at home, I can't help but wonder if my tap water is keeping it from tasting like it did at the spa? Would it be better to boil bottled water for my hot tea? If not, what ways can I make this tea taste great?

This isn't a question you really needed to ask. The best way to find the answer is to try it.. you have nothing to lose. Make sure it steeps long enough. Best is to not pour the water the moment it boils. Wait a minute, then pour into the cup (or teapot) with your tea.

Try filtering your water – it will be much cheaper.

If your tap water tastes okay – then the tea is maybe not getting strong enough? Is it the same brand as what you had at the spa?

Try regular bottled water. You might also try the distilled water. Both can be found at Albertsons, Safeway, Wal-Mart…in one gallon jugs.
But, you are right: the water makes a lot of difference. I have never gotten used to tap water; growing up, it was either pump water or spring water. Spring water is by far the best…

it's perfectly all right to use bottled water. why don't you ask the makers in the spa regarding how they do it?

Yeh its fine I take bottled water with me when we go camping to make my first cup of tea . until we get the water, gas and electric all pumped in, to the caravan. And even the dogs drink bottled water, as each county we visit has a different tasting water and it upsets ther stomach. so they are used to drinking water. distilled.

do you have a problem with your tap water?
maybe the spa cheated you serving fresh and selling stale stuff??

Go to the spa again and asked them what kind of water they put in it.

if i were u, i would TRY the bottled water and see how it works out. if it still dosent taste the same, they may have added something else @ the spa to make it taste better or maybe it was just ur enviornment. but i would try the bottled water and c how that works! good luck! :)
